this Saturday 21st October, 2pm-4pm, at The Moon Café and on ZOOM.

Liz Lefroy won the 2011 Roy Fisher Prize endowed by then UK Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, resulting in the publication of her first pamphlet, Pretending the Weather. Three further pamphlets followed – The Gathering (2012), Mending The Ordinary (2014) and GREAT MASTER/small boy (2021).  Her poetry has featured in many UK magazines and anthologies.

In 2016, Liz was selected to read on the Shore-to-Shore tour in support of independent UK bookshops, appearing on stage alongside Carol Ann Duffy, Gillian Clarke, Imtiaz Dharker, and Jackie Kay.  Now living in Shrewsbury, England, Liz hosts a popular monthly poetry event which hosts both an open mic and featured readers.  She’s been pleased to feature Australian poet Ross Donlon.

In September 2023, Liz made her editorial debut with Festival in a Book, featuring over 100 voices from the former Wenlock Poetry Festival, including many of the UK’s foremost contemporary poets.

Melanie Coram is a poet, writer and journalist living and working in Boorloo (Perth).  She has worked as a reporter and subeditor for newspapers in WA and overseas.

She became interested in reading poetry as a child when she bought a used copy of A Puffin Book of Verse at a school fete.  During the pandemic she became interested in writing poetry after being inspired by the diverse talent, subject matter and performance styles at Perth Poetry Club.

While still in the early stages of exploring stylistic and performance possibilities, Melanie favours language with clean lines and is intrigued by the games Surrealists play.

Kerry Greer is an award-winning poet and writer based in Western Australia.  She received the Venie Holmgren Prize for Environmental Poetry in 2021.  Kerry has been shortlisted for the ABR Calibre Essay Prize, the Stuart Hadow Short Story Prize, the Woollahra Digital Literary Award, the Newcastle Poetry Prize, the ACU Poetry Prize, the Bruce Dawe Poetry Prize, and more.  In 2022, she was one of ten writers selected for the Publishable program, run by Queensland Writers Centre.

Kerry was born in Northern Ireland, and moved to Western Australia as a child.  She has also lived at length in New Mexico.  She completed a B.A. in English Literature and French at the University of Western Australia in 2008.  She is an MFA candidate in the low-residency program at Cedar Crest College.  As a widow and solo parent, Kerry has a particular interest in writing about grief and what comes after loss.

Kerry's debut poetry collection, The Sea Chest, will be published by Recent Work Press in November.
