Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poets

Paul R Kohn is a writer of poetry and short stories, performer of spoken word, and creator of music and lyrics. Residing in South Australia, he’s featured at events both locally and nationally, sharing words from his debut poetry collection, ‘Soul Refraction’ (Dragonfly Publishing). His words have been published in a number of national and international anthologies including Black Bough Poetry, Anti Heroin Chic and RDW World. Paul writes as a way of processing, understanding, healing and growing, and shares his written and spoken word poetry all over Australia and the world in the hope that it helps others too.
Jeff Cottrill is a novelist, poet, spoken-word artist and journalist based in Toronto, Canada. He has headlined in countless literary series throughout Canada, the U.K., the U.S., France and Ireland for more than twenty years, and he has been published in several international anthologies from New York to Australia. His performance style is influenced by slam conventions, but subverts them with wit, ironic humour and a satirical tone. In 2021, his poem “This Is Not Real Poetry” was nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and last year, he launched Hate Story, his seventh or eighth attempt at a first novel.
Since returning from a whirlwind Decent Beings tour of the UK late last year to promote her second book, Shine, a collaborative project of art created by Neshka Turner and poetry penned by herself, Skylar J Wynter has been busy trying to master the art of living a balanced life. Still no closer to achieving this state of utopia, she has at least managed to secure herself a role in a spoken word show, The Embodiment of Women, being performed on 29th October at Imaginarium, win the WA state round of the Australian Poetry Slam, write a couple of new poems and quit a very taxing day job. She loves a great book, a sunny day and witnessing humans behaving decently.
