Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poets, Zan Ross & Jonathan Lewis + open-mike this Saturday 19th August, 2pm-4pm, ONLY at The Moon Café.
Zan Ross has lived in WA for thirty+ years, and is a life-long teacher who identifies as a poet. She has been published in all the usual Australian journals, a few anthologies, on-line zines and publications in America, France and Bulgaria. She has performed her and other people’s work extensively in WA, frequently in NSW and infrequently in SA and Victoria.
Zan is an accomplished poet and spoken word performer, and has been part of Perth Poetry Club for many years. She is the author of two collections, B-Grade and Enpassant, plus one chapbook, “Je ne sais quoi”.

So I reinvent myself as Poet, Photographer and Didgeridoo player. As a Phoenix I raise myself from the ashes of my Fire. I am the Flame and anthracite ember. A single speck that soars into the night sky on the cold night of my existence. I become the wood that warms. This metaphorical log that burns bright on the internal furnace of Faith. With Faith, with Grace, I become One. One with the curling Spirit filled smoke that was once a living Spire. These are my beautiful Brothers and Sister the trees, I inhale you and so remember what is.
As a Poet I love to rhyme. I do not have to, however, it is a most enjoyable part of simply Beeing this Human me. I go exploring the energy in sound generation alone through word recital. It is akin to riding a horse. At times I walk, at times I rise to the trot, at times I cantor. I seek harmony, balance and flow with Oneness of word. As to the content, the innerstanding, you take what you take. Take the lot and we may resonate together in divine harmony and Bee
