30th January 2016 - Alex Chapman & Caitlin Maling

Two great feature poets, Caitlin Maling & Alex Chapman, for Saturday 30th January 2016.

Caitlin Maling (pictured right) is a WA poet currently living in Sydney. A first collection "Conversations I've never Had" was published last year through Fremantle Press. A second collection is forthcoming early 2017. Caitlin has been making waves on the east coast – the surf’s up when she’s visiting the west coast.

Alex R Chapman (pictured left) was born in Sydney but has lived in Perth since 1988 working as a botanist, co-authoring 'The Western Australian Flora - a descriptive catalogue' in 2000. He first started writing songs and performing while at the University of New England and has been playing music in various bands and venues ever since.

Alex published his first collection of poetry 'Sojourn' in 2013, and a collaborative work - 'construct a world' - with Francesca Sasnaitis the following year. He is launching his latest chapbook 'the colour of gravity' this Saturday at the Perth Poetry Club.

It will be a rewarding 30th January, Saturday afternoon 2pm – 4pm at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge. Be there to see Caitlin Maling and Alex Chapman - open mike as always.
