Saturday 2nd of December, J.P. and Melissa Clements!

This Saturday, it’s J.P. and Melissa Clements as our features on 2nd December 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.

J.P. has an eclectic background, having practised social work for 27 years, a probation officer for the first 8.  She has tried hard not to fall into the abyss ever since.  Her performing career includes: cabaret dancer, dance teacher, travelled as a dancer in production shows, pantomime actress and choreographer.  JP is also an educator, having run ‘poetry is fun’ workshops in a school.

She shares real stories, both personal and professional which are undeniably thought provoking, political, tragic or humorous. She has performed at Spoken Word Perth, and WTV Undercurrent.  She considers herself, an aspiring unburdened human being, who is starting to lose her teeth.

Melissa Clements is a Perth based artist and poet.  Whilst she considers herself an artist first, poetry has been a valuable tool for self-discovery and provided avenues for exploration in her visual art.  Influenced by the old masters and as poets like T.S Eliot and e.e. cummings, Melissa likes to utilise extended metaphor and allusion to enrich her poetry with layers of meaning.  Melissa has previously featured at Spoken Word Perth and Youthful Transgressions, where she hopes her words can be used as a means of catharsis to sublimate human emotions.  She is completing a Bachelor of Philosophy at UWA.

Please join us to hear J.P. + Melissa Clements this Saturday afternoon 2pm-4pm at the Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge.
