This Saturday (22nd April 2017) is our Mega Open-Mike Event, where everyone is a feature. Perth Poetry Club holds these as an opportunity for every open-miker to be a feature with 5 minutes (maximum) of performance time.
Guest MCs are Maddie Godfrey, Jakob Boyd and Allan Padgett. Who knows what will happen.

'Poetry In Conversation' is a chance for you to listen to some of Perth’s best poets in an interview format with Robert Wood. These sessions are designed as an introduction and exploration of how poets write, read and talk. They will feature readings of poems as well as the opportunity for you to hear about the poet’s influences, process and work. This will give you the chance to listen to the stories behind the poetry for which they are known.

This Saturday we have the launch of Glen Phillips’ two new books Slings and Arrows I & II with mega features, Jenny Davis, Jan Napier, Jackson, Peter Jeffery, and Bryn Griffiths reading from his books, launch speech by Bryn, response by Glen. Open-mike as usual. Some food and refreshments provided after 4pm.
All this Saturday 8th April 2017 at Perth Poetry Club – a book launch embedded in the gig.

It’s the master of form Derek Fenton, this Saturday 1st April 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.
Derek Fenton was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in 1946. He was educated at Milton School and Natal and Harare Universities. He returned to Milton where he taught English before travelling to Europe.
