Saturday 3rd March, Mega Open-Mike event

This Saturday 3rd March 2018 is our first Mega Open-Mike Event for the year where everyone is a feature at Perth Poetry Club.

Perth Poetry Club holds Mega Open-Mikes quarterly as an opportunity for every open-miker to be a feature with 5 minutes (maximum) of performance time.

Best to prepare your performance.  Try something different, experimental.   Edit and refresh your poems.   Hone your performance skills.

Past events have been memorable for the quality of the poetry and performances.

Saturday 24th February, Peter Burges + Patrick 'Patch' Kain

This Saturday, it’s Peter Burges and Patrick “Patch” Kain as our features for 24th February 2018 at Perth Poetry Club.

Peter Burges is an eclectic reader (history, politics, biographies, fiction, science fiction, fantasy, crime, religious texts, cross-cultural issues, etc.), and has had a long term goal of becoming a writer (of poetry, short stories and novels).  So far he has had one poem published (by Unevenfloor, thanks to Jackson), and he hopes it is the first of many. 

Saturday 3rd February, Alexis Dubus (UK) + Katie Bennett!

This Saturday, it’s Alexis Dubus (UK) and Katie Bennett as our features on 3rd February 2018 at Perth Poetry Club.

Alexis Dubus is back in town doing the Fringe in his show “Alexis Dubus Verses The World” Feb 17th - 25th. Alexis, UK comedian, poet and man returns to Perth Poetry Club with more poetry, lyrical tales from the road, and iffy wordplay.  He has performed at numerous festivals, and is past winner of the Chortle Award 2015 (Best Sketch/Character/Improv) and Fringe World Award 2013 (Best Comedy).

Saturday 20th January, Tony Curtis!

This Saturday, it’s Tony Curtis as our feature on 20th January 2018 at Perth Poetry Club.

Tony Curtis was born in Dublin in 1955.  An award-winning poet, Tony has published ten warmly received collections.  His most recent title are 'Folk' (Arc Publications, 2011) 'Pony' with drawings and painting by David Lilburn (Occasional Press, 2013) and 'Approximately in the Key of C' (Arc Publications, 2015).

He has been awarded the Irish National Poetry Prize and the Varuna House Exchange Fellowship to Australia.
