Perth Poetry Club this Saturday 28th March 2026, 2pm-4pm, has a
Poetry 101 session on Lord Byron + open-mike
at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge and on ZOOM
Lord Byron was a Romantic poet, but let’s stop it there. He wouldn’t have thought himself as that. He was more a dreamer, head-strong at times, passionate and eccentric.
The idea behind this Perth Poetry Club gig is not a lecture, but to show his life’s journey through his poetry – his passion in action, love and belief, the places visited, his notoriety, enough to make people think him “mad, bad and dangerous to know”.
He instilled a similar response in those he met.
Two strong WA connections to Lord Byron also will be revealed, based on pers. comm.
