J.P. Quinton + open-mike
at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge and on ZOOM

J. P. Quinton was born at Swan Districts hospital in 1981. He grew up next to the swan river in Bassendean and ever since then he has been preoccupied with rivers.

Every poetry chapbook he makes has to have the word ‘river’ in it. Some titles are:

River Upon River Upon River — a collection of poems about cycling around the UK for 9 weeks.
The River Tarmac‚ about cycling from Perth to Melbourne.
River. Cycle. About cycling from Darwin to Perth.
How To Cross the Rakaia River is about walking the length of the South Island of New Zealand.

He recently climbed a mountain range in Tasmania and wrote ‘7 Pictures of Mud’ which will probably be included in his next chapbook, which doesn’t have a title yet.
