Lana Moon & Lake + open-mike

Lana Moon is a queer, non-binary poet based in this sunny town. She likes getting lost but doesn't go on planes much or know how to drive. She reckons flowers are alright sometimes but hayfever is a nightmare all year round. She forgets to write poems for a while, often. She forgets she's a poet too, which isn't the worst thing because we all know about poets. Usually, though, she's a pretty happy sort.
Lake was born and grew up in Perth, and will die in Perth. Lake won a Tim Winton Award in 2008 and 2012. Lake previously studied film production at Curtin University and at Edith Cowan University, to non-existent professional success as is often the case for creatives, especially in Perth. Lake’s work, which often draws from her experiences in Perth, has been published in Brushstrokes VI, a publication of WA Poets Publishing,. These days, Lake splits her time between living in her hometown, and living in the hopes of moving to Melbourne.
