Perth Poetry Club this Saturday 13th December, 2pm-4pm has four fabulous poets,
Aaron Tuckey, Susan Coggin, Gabby Everall, Deanne Leber + open-mike,
last Moon gig for the year, + pizzas at half-time
at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge and on ZOOM.
Aaron Tuckey combines art and science to communicate the severity and urgency of the multiple, interconnected sustainability crises we currently face, both to raise public awareness on stage and as an outlet for his own frustration and concern. Aaron sits on the board of the Stockholm Poet Society.
He has stage experience in both English and Swedish as a poet, public speaker, classical and contemporary musician, master of ceremonies, facilitator and even dabbled in improvised theatre. He is a published scientific author and has self-published a poetic anthology.
Susan Coggin – Susan was born in Zimbabwe. She lives in the dictionary, in her little nest in between survive and susceptible. She writes and sings and improvises from there, and loves slamming into silence…
Gabrielle Everall went to Berlin for 3 months to do an artist's residency. She was the resident poet at SomoS Arts in Berlin. She is currently writing her next book, Lolita with an Axe. A rewriting of Nabokov's Lolita from Lolita's perspective.
Deanne Leber is a Boorloo-Perth poet, based on Whadjuk Noongar Country. She has published three collections of poetry: Book of Days (2006), Constellations (2021) and How to Throw Stones (2025). Constellations was a finalist in the International Book Awards 2022. Deanne’s third collection, How to Throw Stones, was launched at the Perth Poetry Festival 2025. The book was written during a time of spiritual, physical and psychological crisis.
