Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poets Raihanaty A Jalil & Andy Kenny
this Saturday 12th July, 2pm-4pm,
at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge and on ZOOM.
Raihanaty A. Jalil is an entrepreneur, educator and writer. She writes poetry and fiction and has read her work during Perth Festival Writers Week, at The Wheeler Centre for the Digital Writers' Festival and has sat on the board for Centre for Stories. She is a self-published author of novelette, “Love, Faith and Numbers: a Muslim Short Story Collection” and co-founder of KMB Press where she co-authored a Muslim children’s book, “Salahuddin’s Smelly Encounter”. Raihanaty has facilitated poetry workshops at the Australian Islamic College for Propel Youth Arts WA. Her creative non-fiction and short fiction has appeared in the anthologies, Wave After Wave and To Hold The Clouds (Centre for Stories, Australia).
Andy Kenny is a 23 year old Perth poet who is passionate about disability rights, and trans & queer visibility. Andy has a soft spot for writing to release emotions but enjoys bending the rules of poetry. He placed 5th in the state final of the 2023 national poetry slam competition, and self published a poetry collection also in 2023.
