Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poet, Ita Goldberger + open-mike
this Saturday 17th May, 2pm-4pm, at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge, and on ZOOM.
Ita Goldberger
Born in Israel to Holocaust surviving parents.
Graduated in Piano studies at the Jerusalem Music academy, plus arts and humanities studies at the universities of both Jerusalem and Stockholm.
Was the cultural events coordinator at the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem.
Immigrated to Australia in 2000.
Her life changed when she was operated with a benign brain tumour in 2018,
It was then that she began her bush walking and explorations of WA landscapes.
She is now a photographer of wildflowers, covering long distances to meet them in their natural habitat.
Still finding her adventurous ways in English.
The absence of military and religious vocabulary, that is overpowering the Israeli Hebrew discourse, are still a revelation.
Her passions: The Human condition.
Hebrew Publications:
-- ‘A Grey Nomad’- poetry book.
-- Poems and articles in Israeli literary magazines.
English Publications:
--Poetry in WA collections: Creatrix and Brushstrokes.
-- ‘The Orchid Animals’: a recent publication of a children’s book on WA native orchids.
