Saturday 8th February, Kaye Brand & Lisa Collyer + open-mike, at The Moon, on Zoom!

.
Perth Poetry Club has wonderful poets Kaye Brand & Lisa Collyer plus open-mike
this Saturday 8th February, 2pm-4pm at The Moon Café, 323 William Street, Northbridge, and on ZOOM.

Throughout her life, Kaye Brand has loved to write. During her childhood years she wrote of fairies, during her boarding school years she wrote of loneliness, during her university years she wrote from ego, during her years as a physiotherapist she wrote of function, pain and outcomes for patients, during her motherhood years she wrote of tenderness and love while during her doctoral studies she wrote of science and capacity. Now living in a highrise apartment in Perth WA, Kaye writes about what lights up each day and gives her joy and stillness. It’s a wonderful life!

Lisa Collyer is a writer in Boorloo. She is the author of the poetry collection, How To Order Eggs Sunny Side Up, (short-listed for The Dorothy Hewett Award) and published with Gazebo Books/Life Before Man. Her personal essay, Prolonged Exposure is published in the anthology, Women of a Certain Courage with Fremantle Press. She was a writer in residence for The National Trust of W.A., and judge of The Tom Collins Poetry Prize. She recently won an artist residence at Bundanon Art Museum for 2025 where she will create new work on climate grief.
