This Saturday 10th April 2pm-4pm we have the wonderful poet Skylar J Wynter + open-mike at the Moon Café and on Zoom.
Skylar J Wynter is the best-selling author of a collection of poetry and flash fiction entitled, Pieces of Humanity which is to be included in the Hollywood Swag Bag Nominee Gift Honoring Oscar Weekend goodie bags gifted to the Academy Award nominees this year.
2020 saw her join the world of zoom poetry, launch Pieces of Humanity, headline events across the USA and UK, not ever win a slam but have fun trying, and foster many new friendships with poets across the globe.
2021 will see the release of her second book of poetry and art, the manuscript for her third book of poetry completed, and her nemesis in the form of her first novel, beaten into submission.
At the start of April she was a guest reader at the launch of Markey Mark Symmonds book of poetry, Rhythm Of The Ink, and between now and June she will be attending and performing at 40 Zoom poetry open mics across the globe.
On the 15th April she headlines at an event in Belfast called Lit Up and in May her first foray into spoken word film, a collaborative piece with American spoken word artist, Special K, will be released. Skylar is a guest reader at the launch of Imago – a book of poetry by UK poet, Rhoda Thomas and in June she will appear as a guest artist in a currently secret, filmed event which will be screened on Zoom.
When she is not writing she likes to create jewellery and garden sculptures, loves a great book, a sunny day and witnessing humans behaving decently. She hates cooking, meal planning and intolerance. Skylar hopes that Covid-19 disappears, that online poetry events don’t and that she finds time to sleep somewhere between projects.
