Saturday 20th February, Daniel Hansen and Prajjwal Dhungana (Nepal) + open-mike! at the Moon and Zoom

This Saturday 20th February 2pm-4pm we have wonderful poets Daniel Hansen + Prajjwal Dhungana (Nepal) + open-mike, at the Moon Café and via Zoom.

Daniel Hansen BIO:  My name is Danno Hansen & I am a Nyoongar poet with strong ties to Ballardong country in the wheatbelt & also Wadjuk country here in Perth.

I have toured the wheatbelt with Community Arts Network.  I have been invited down to Denmark for the Denmark Festival of Voice multiple times.  I won the Perth History Slam in 2018 against people who have degrees & bachelorettes in history & who have studied the subject their entire lives even though I only have a year 10 education & I have been in the top ranks of Poetry slammers along with some of WA's finest.

I am currently trying to build more confidence in performing musical numbers as a solo act with my guitar.

I am a strong believer in Dreamtime with strong ties to Catholicism as well.

Music & Poetry mean so much to me as they keep me well connected to my spirituality & religious beliefs as a story teller & a musician.  Two very significant roles held very highly since the beginning of Time.

A lot of my Poetry pieces are deep, emotional & raw when addressing issues such as race, politics, mental health & grief.  I do have many poems of happier times & that offer many Blessings to all.

I am so grateful to have Poetry & music to keep me out of so much trouble over the years as well as gaining a platform to be able to help give a voice to people who are oppressed & or struggling in this journey of Life we share.

Prajjwal Dhungana BIO:  I am Prajjwal Dhungana from Nepal. I am currently studying Bachelor in Economics at Kathmandu University School of Arts.

I have a deep interest in writing and poetry since childhood.  Particularly, poetry has become a medium for me to express my heart ever since.  My poems are an attempt to connect with people's life through simple lines. I  write in English, Nepali and Hindi languages.

I was introduced to Perth Poetry Club via my English Professor Kashi Raj Pandey.  Since then I have been taking part in the open-mike.  Truly speaking Perth Poetry Club has become a platform for me to express my poems to an audience who truly care about poetry.  Jackson, Elio, Yvonne Patterson have become my inspiration in this club.

Beside poetry I love Mathematics, Economics & Science.  I love learning new things.  Thank you for appreciating my poetry and providing me this opportunity.

All this with open-mike.
