Saturday 8th August, Gillian Clark and Aydan Lesina - via Zoom and the Moon!

This Saturday 8th August we have the wonderful poets Gillian Clark, Aydan Lesina + open-mike, VIA ZOOM at the Moon.

We will be at the Moon Café with stage-mike for those unable to ZOOM in. Gillian and Aydan also will be performing from the Moon Cafe, Northbridge.

Starting her professional life as an actor with a Diploma of Acting from National Institute of Dramatic Arts (N.I.D.A.) Gillian Clark acted, directed, wrote and crewed on theatre, film, corporate and commercial arts projects since the 1980’s in Melbourne and Sydney.

The eastern states were her home during the 80’s and 90’s and then a desire to return home to Western Australia where she grew up called. Back in her home state, she continued directing, acting. In the last twenty years, Gillian has developed a keener interest in writing whilst having a part-time occupation as a high school Drama and English teacher. A highlight being co-writer on play adaptation of ‘The God of Small Things’ by Arundhati Roy.

Her writing association has strengthened in the past five years with KSP since 2015 as she relocated to the foothills, and she has appeared in one of the ongoing groups’ anthologies since then. Gillian completed a Fellowship with KSP in 2017.

Letters to Our Home, creative reflections on the climate crisis, produced just pre-pandemic 2020 is anthology she has proudly been included in as a poet this year. She is very pleased to be a feature poet at Perth Poetry Club, as she sees delight in poets and audiences alike as visions and passions are explored enduringly on a weekly basis!

Aydan Lesina is an artist, and contemporary observer poet, whose inspiration comes from the places he visits, and concerns he carries with him. His words strive to feather out these concerns, provided by today’s way of living, as well as his own trauma, connecting them to familiar scenes, creating fresh perspectives. He has posted his poems on allpoetry.com, and attends local open mic poetry events. This is his second poetry feature at Perth Poetry Club.

Aydan has many strings to his bow, as a painter and art collaborator who has hosted a number of art exhibition events.

The Zoom session is on Saturday, 8th August 2:00pm to 4:00pm Perth Aus WST (GMT+8hrs). MC/
