Jessie Appleyard (pictured left) is a make up artist, recent poet & raspberry tartlet enthusiast. After graduating from her fashion degree, she costumed shows in New York but it wasn't until she moved back home that she became involved with Spoken Word Perth. She now regularly hosts their open mic nights & has trouble keeping the plants in her house alive.

Rachael Petridis (pictured) is a Fremantle-based poet, and is a founding member of the Fremantle writing group OOTA. Our two features this Saturday 16th April 2016 are eclectic, elusive but worth listening to.
Colin Young is volunteer Publicity Officer at FAWWA. If you google “Colin Young poet”, you get images of Donald Trump, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, but none of Colin. Colin translates ancient Greek poetry, has a PhD in Ancient/Classical Greek Language and Literature, has been known to wear a golden wreath (ancient Roman style), but his poetry is grounded in the here and now.
Zan Ross (pictured left) is a poet who likes to think of herself as being from Fremantle, although the closest she's gotten in the past twenty-five years is East Fremantle. She has been published in all the usual journals and a number of anthologies in Australia, and a few anthologies/journals in Canada, Budapest, Paris, the U.S.

This Saturday (19th March 2016) is our Mega Open-Mike Event, where everyone is a feature. Perth Poetry Club holds these every quarter, and it is an opportunity for every open-miker to have 5 minutes (maximum) of performance time. Best to prepare your performance.
