Saturday 13th October, Carol Millner + Shae O'Reilly!

This Saturday 13th October 2018 we have two wonderful poets, Carol Millner + Shae O’Reilly at Perth Poetry Club.

Carol Millner moved to Western Australia from New Zealand in 2005.  Carol is an award winning short story writer and poet, as well as a creative writing teacher.  Her work has been published in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Spain, as well as online.  She has also written community plays, academic essays, reviews, promotional material for the performing arts, public policy documents, historical monographs and research papers.

Saturday 6th October, Glen Phillips + friends, Re-launch of "In the Hollow of the Land"!

This Saturday 6th October 2018 we have the re-launch of In the Hollow of the Land by Glen Phillips & friends at Perth Poetry Club.

Glen Phillips, born in 1936 in Southern Cross WA, has taught all his working life with 50 years at ECU and is internationally recognised and published.

He is Director of the International Centre for Landscape and Language at ECU, an Honorary Professor, and patron of KSP Writers’ Centre.

Saturday 1st September, Mega Open-Mike!

This Saturday 1st September 2018 is our third Mega Open-Mike Event for the year where everyone is a feature at Perth Poetry Club.

Perth Poetry Club holds Mega Open-Mikes quarterly as an opportunity for every open-miker to be a feature with 5 minutes (maximum) of performance time.

Best to prepare your performance.  Try something different, experimental.  Edit and refresh your poems.  Hone your performance skills.

Past events have been memorable for the quality of the poetry and performances.

Saturday 25th August, Sara Morgillo, Catherine Jamison & Ciaran Spearink!

Our feature poets this Saturday 25th August 2018 are the entertaining Sara Morgillo, Catherine Jamison & Ciaran Spearink.

Sara Morgillo is a lover and observer of the wonder and beauty of the natural world. She says “when you jump, not only do you move back towards the earth as you land, but the earth moves towards you“. Her impact in poetry has been at Spoken Word Perth and WA Youth Slams. Sara’s first chapbook “Moth Bones” was published in June this year by Hectic Measures Press.

Saturday 18th August, Book Launch + the Perth Poetry Festival gig!

A very busy gig this Saturday 18th August 2018 with an early 1:40pm start for a book launch and then the Perth Poetry Festival gig.

The book launch is for Sanna Peden’s Straight Lines - launch speech by Vivienne Glance.

Then we morph into Perth Poetry Club with our feature poets being the Perth Poetry Festival poets.  Nine poets, by way of
