Brushstrokes III is an anthology of selected poems from entrants in the 2022 Ros Spencer poetry contest. The Ros Spencer poetry contest from WA Poets Inc. is proudly supported by Geoff Spencer and family in recognition of the courage, character and commitment of Ros Spencer, for original and unpublished poems of up to 60 lines with an open theme.
Gayelene Carbis is an award-winning writer of poetry, prose and plays. Her first poetry book, Anecdotal Evidence, was awarded Finalist, International Book Awards, 2019 (U.S.). Her recent work includes publication of her second book, I Have Decided to Remain Vertical (Puncher and Wattmann), and completing her first collection of stories.
David Terelinck is nefarious for holding words hostage on a page until they agree to become a poem. On rare occasions, a ransom is paid in prize money.
Shey Marque’s poetry appears in literary journals including Australian Poetry Journal, Cordite, Meanjin, Westerly, Southerly and Overland, and has been recognised in many competitions, winning QPF Emerging Poet and the Blue Nib Chapbook Prize. Her collection 'Keeper of the Ritual' (UWAP, 2019) was shortlisted for The Noel Rowe Poetry Award.
Rhian Healy lives and works in Perth. He likes hamburgers.
SoulReserve is an emerging Western Australian poet of Indian descent. She is Centre for Stories' fellow and recipient of the 2021 Pocketry Prize for Unpublished Poets. Her works appear in—Social Alternatives, Portside Review, Burrow Journal, Saltbush Review and more. She is the current Poet-in-Residence at The Wetlands Centre Cockburn.
