This Saturday 12th November we have wonderful poets Tammie Winnett + Cam Knight (Vic) + Judith Ann, and open-mike at Perth Poetry Club, VIA ZOOM and at The Moon Café.
Tammie Winnett has been coming to the Moon since 2016. She is quiet, somewhat shy, but has been getting up on the mic to share her words, her thoughts, her emotions about life and the world that she lives in.
Cam Knight (Vic) is an artist of speaking spoken words. Known for; eating bananas, inventor of the butt-dragging across the stage, yelling at lamp posts and occasionally reading and publishing poems. When Cam is not inscribing poetry into the souls of impressionable robot cats, he is pretending to be a painter and putter-on of unique events. Coming in 4D from a terminal near you 'The verything experience'! Cam previously featured at the Club in 2017, now living in Melbourne.
Judith Ann founded the group Poet and Artist Speaks in June 2022. As an emerging poet and with a lack of the poetry scene in the eastern region of Perth the desire to share her poetry along with hearing other poets was commenced at Bellevue Art Space in the City of Swan.
Judith Ann has spent years writing from solitary times travelling in the wheat belt countryside & bush area of her childhood east of Perth around the Bruce Rock district. This love of nature and her environment while also living in the rural wine region of the Swan Valley has been an inspiration for her to write. So too have been her 6 week travels through Italy, Spain & France. An observer of human beings, along with the tougher challenges of life, has also inspired her to write deeply about people; often where Judith Ann can be seen quietly tucked away in cafe thinking & writing poetry.
Judith Ann would be preferred to be known as the Calligraphy Poet. She prefers to articulate her poems with nib & ink & bring them to life by the flourished word & her voice. Judith Ann is also one to create other people’s poems into artworks for their walls in a traditional or abstract manner & is available to commission this unique combination of expression. She is a firm believer that words have power & her gestural & flourishing manner is one that will make your poetry stand out from the rest.
A great place to be this Saturday afternoon 2pm-4pm.
The venue is The Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge and on ZOOM.
