Scott-Patrick Mitchell (SPM) is a WA based non-binary poet who is a guest on Whadjuk Noongar Land. SPM’s work appears in Contemporary Australian Poetry, The Fremantle Press Anthology of Western Australian Poetry, Solid Air, Stories of Perth and Going Postal. They have a number of previous chapbooks, including songs for the ordinary mass (PressPress, 2009), The Rutting Season (Mulla Mulla Press, 2012) and This Is How We Heal (Hectic Measures Press, 2018). A seasoned performance poet, Mitchell has toured Australia over the past two decades with works that have fused language and minimal baroque to the 2015 one-person showcase THE 24 HOUR PERFORMANCE POEM. SPM is the Social Media Manager at WA Poets Inc and is the first West Australian poet to receive the Red Room Poetry Fellowship. Scott-Patrick's first full length collection, Clean, was published by Upswell in 2022 and explores addiction, recovery, getting lost and finding your way back home.
Our extra feature Paul Kohn (SA) is a writer of poetry, performer of spoken word, and creator of music and lyrics. Residing in South Australia, he’s featured at The Good Word, Spoke N Slurred, Mixed Bag (SA), and West Side (NSW). Most recently placing third in the 2021 SA Winter Slam, he placed first in the July 2020 Ruckus Slam. His words have been published in Black Bough, Anti Heroin Chic and RDW World. Paul writes to process, understand, heal and grow, and shares his written and spoken word poetry all over Australia and the world in the hope that it helps others too." Paul will be live at the Moon as will SPM.
