Nathan Toy grew up in Brisbane City, moving to Western Australia when he was a teenager.
Nathan’s poetry comes from a place of pain, human pain, pain that we have either experienced already or will experience soon. Nathan hopes his poetry whispers softly to the still-sleeping darkness within you, and soothes it with a reminder: you are not alone.
He aims to use his poetry as a way of expressing things he himself is having issue with, and also as a way to meet new and interesting people.
Maurice Corlett was born and raised in Newhaven on the south coast of England - a region that often resounds in his poetry. After travelling and working in Europe, he came to Australia by the overland route, arriving in the early seventies. He has lived in several locations in south eastern Australia and now lives and writes in Wagga Wagga.
A number of his poems have been published in FourW - an Australian journal with international contributors. More recently he has had work published online, both in Australia and in America. Some time ago now, he was published in Sign Of The Times, an anthology of Australian short stories. In another life, he acted and wrote in plays and shows in the Wagga Wagga theatre scene. Now he spends most of his creative time writing poems and short pieces of prose that he likes to read aloud - Zoom has been a great medium for that. Occasionally he takes a local writing group called Word Play. Recently he has collected his work from over the last seven years and is seeking a publisher.
