This Saturday 17th October 2pm-4pm we have wonderful poet Barbara Stapleton + launch of Winter Gold and open-mike at Perth Poetry Club, VIA ZOOM and at THE MOON CAFÉ.

Barbara Stapleton was born in Melbourne in 1937. She grew up at Hampton in a housing area for returned soldiers where the streets are named after the battlefields of France: Passchendaele, Villeroy, Amiens. After travelling overseas, she returned to Australia and entered a Catholic religious order in 1962, and subsequently taught in a number of schools in Victoria. She came to Perth about 30 years ago and became interested in short-story writing. For the past 20 years she has been a member of the Nuhra Community and lives at their retreat and meditation centre near Mandurah. She has had a short story published in a Penguin anthology entitled The Man Who Played Spoons (1987). Winter Gold is her first book of poems

Liana Joy Christensen will give a short launch speech. Liana is emeritus M.C. of Voicebox, and a great poet and performer of poetry.

The venue is Moon Café, 323 William St, Northbridge. A great place to be this Saturday afternoon 2pm-4pm.
