This Saturday 9th November we have the wonderful poet Natalie D-Napoleon at Perth Poetry Club.
Natalie D-Napoleon is a writer, singer-songwriter and educator from Fremantle. She spent the last decade in the United States where she worked as a Coordinator at the Santa Barbara City College Writing Centre. She was one of this year’s Festival poets in August, and is now back in Perth.
Her work has appeared in Meanjin, Southerly, Griffith Review, Australian Poetry Journal and Writer’s Digest. Recently (March 2019) she released a chapbook of erasure poems, Border Crossings. In 2018 Natalie was awarded the Bruce Dawe National Poetry Prize for her poem "First Blood: A Sestina" and last month her debut poetry collection, First Blood, was released through Ginninderra Press. The book includes a collection of poems-as-memoir that challenge the preconceptions of girlhood.
Natalie will do a Perth City launch of First Blood at the Moon. In addition to her literary pursuits, Natalie is a singer-songwriter who has toured Australia, Europe and the United States.
