This Saturday 2nd March 2019 we have Peter Burges + David Moore, and open-mike.
Peter Burges is an eclectic reader (history, politics, biographies, fiction, science fiction, fantasy, crime, religious texts, cross-cultural issues, etc.), and has had a long term goal of becoming a writer (of poetry, short stories and novels). So far he has had one poem published (by Unevenfloor, thanks to Jackson), and he hopes it is the first of many.
His feature will include the performance of two long poems, one in each half:
Glitterband by Peter Burges, performed by Peter Burges, Leonard James, Allan Padgett and Splodge.
The Notification by Perter Burges, performed by Ann Gilchrist, Daphne Milne, Annette Orr and Marion Whelligan.
For David Moore: after nearly 20 years living in Christchurch NZ and Melbourne, David returned to his native Sandgroper home in 2018. A life-long love of words and writing lurched somewhat unexpectedly in the direction of the poetic when he took an extended break from work to walk a 950km pilgrim route across northern Spain.
The burning questions for David: Do all the wild and beautiful and terrifying and exquisite fragments of life make any sense? Can they all fit harmoniously in this ordinary-extraordinary precious human container?
Join us at Perth Poetry Club this Saturday afternoon 2pm - 4pm at the Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge to hear Peter Burges + David Moore, plus open-mike.
The next few weeks we have the following features + usual open mike:
2-Mar-19 Peter Burges + David Moore + open-mike
9-Mar-19 Woman Scream 2019 (run by WA Poets Inc.) – no open-mike
16-Mar-19 Ron Okely + friends, and Launch of Ron Okely's 'No Easy Way' + open-mike …
