Saturday 29th September, Gary Colombo De Piazzi & Mark Roberts!

This Saturday 29th September 2018 we have two wonderful poets, Gary Colombo De Piazzi & Mark Roberts (NSW) at Perth Poetry Club.

Gary Colombo De Piazzi fell into poetry in 2003 as a means to resolve and release thoughts and emotions that plagued him.  The sense of liberation and the creative joy he experienced created an interest and determination to explore the power and wonder of words.  Whilst he has dabbled with traditional forms, he prefers the freedom of free verse, writing purely from the heart without constraints of form and syntax, to mix and mesh words to draw an emotion or raise a point.  He continues to be involved in various voluntary positions on the executive committees of WA Poets Inc and Creative Connections Art & Poetry Exhibitions and is co ordinator of Poetry d'Amour.

Mark Roberts is a Sydney based writer, critic and publisher.  He set up Rochford Street Press and P76 magazine in the early 1980s and was the founding editor of the online cultural journal Rochford Street Review.  His poetry has been published in numerous journals, both in Australia and overseas, since the 1980s and his latest collection, Concrete Flamingos, was published by Island Press in 2016.
