This Saturday 15th September 2018 we have three wonderful poets, Michele Woods, Heritier Kasanda & Daniel Hansen at Perth Poetry Club.
Michele Woods is an Irish-Australian wordsmith, storyteller and ex-shepherdess. She is also a passionate mental health advocate and speaker and has taught writing & storytelling skills at the West Australian Association of Mental Health. Michele also tells true tragi-comic tales at Perth’s Barefaced Stories & Edinburgh Fringe Festival which have been broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland & ABC radio arts programs.
Heritier Kasanda, although born in Lusaka Zambia, hails from Congolese decent. His family held deep values in authenticity, appreciation and education so Heritier always found a love for art as they projected these values. Still new to the poetry scene Heritier is progressing to write poetry that articulates himself perfectly.
Daniel Hansen is a Nyoongar writer of poetry and short story. He started to write poems when he was 11 years old, when he first heard Eminem's album The Marshall Mathers LP and fell in Love with Hip Hop, something he believes is another form of poetry. After studying Tupac's outlook on poetry, writing and expression of self, he has refined his craft; now also writing short story. Writing has helped Daniel through many hard times and owes a lot to it. He incorporates belief in spirit and dreamtime into his writing.
Join us this Saturday afternoon 2pm - 4pm at the Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge to hear Michele Woods, Heritier Kasanda & Daniel Hansen.
