Saturday 7th April, Benny Fincham-de Groot + Mattie Goedegebuur!

This Saturday, it’s Benny Fincham-de Groot and Mattie Goedegebuur as our features for Saturday 7th April 2018 at Perth Poetry Club.

Award winning poet and Perth Poetry Slam champion, Benny Fincham-de Groot has been writing and performing poetry as Ben Riddle for the last five years in an effort to challenge the stigma around mental health, and to interrogate modern masculinity.  As a contemporary poet based in Perth, Ben Riddle won the 2014 Fred Simpson Prize for English Verse, and is currently Co-Director of the Said Poets Society.

Ben has been published in Australia, Europe and the United States; notably in Trove Journal, The Travelling Poet and the Stormcloud Poets Anthology. He has done backflips off buildings, stages and every serious commitment he’s ever made in his life.

Mattie Goedegebuur is a teacher/educator.  Born in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, now living in Spakenburg, she is a committed people-person and works primarily with people associated with personality disorders.  She has always been fascinated by the possibility of playing with language.
