This Saturday, it’s John Ryan and Mindy Gill as our features on 9th December 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.
John Charles Ryan is a poet with an interest in plants. He is a member of the New England Writers’ Centre in Armidale, NSW, and a research fellow in the School of Arts at the University of New England. Originally from the United States, John moved to Perth in 2008 and then to Armidale in 2017 where he is enjoying the Tablelands environment and writing poetry about the region’s flora. He has facilitated poetry workshops at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) and as part of numerous events in WA, including the All Saints College Storylines Festival. His works include Katoomba Incantation (2011), Two With Nature (2012, with Ellen Hickman) and, most recently, Primavariants (2017, with Glen Phillips)
Mindy Gill’s poems have appeared in Australian Poetry Journal, Island Magazine, and Award Winning Australian Writing, and elsewhere. She has won the Queensland Premier’s Young Writers and Publishers Award, and is a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow. She is Peril Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief.
