Saturday 2nd of September, Anne Norman and Jamie MacQueen!

Our feature poets are Anne Norman and Jamie MacQueen, this Saturday 2nd September 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.

Anne Norman has just flown in from Darwin where she has been Directing a series of subterranean concerts in the World War II Oil storage tunnels.  She has just released a new CD with Yolgnu Songmen in collaboration with a range of other musicians, and is currently studying Yolngu matha (the language of NE Arnhem Land) through Charles Darwin Uni.  Her focus at the moment is learning about the power of song in carrying ancient knowledge and archaic language which connects people to Land and Law.  Anne plays shakuhachi bamboo flute as a living and also tells stories for children in schools across the country using rhyme, rhythm and music.  Anne has presented poems at the Perth Poetry club for the last two years... And is looking forward to returning with more spoken offerings.

Jamie MacQueen a relic of the local arts scene; more curio than artefact, his support of the Perth Poetry Club has been invaluable.  After losing his mojo somewhere amongst his eclectic book collection, Jamie is back!  And we are glad that he is.  Fresh from the depths of procrastifarianism, having tripped up his mojo Under Milk Wood, join us as he takes us on a tangent of rediscovery.

Please join us for an interesting poetry afternoon at The Moon Café, 323 William Street Northbridge this Saturday 2pm-4pm to hear Anne Norman and Jamie MacQueen.  Open-mike as always.
