Saturday 5th of August, Tineke Van der Eecken!

Our feature poet is Tineke Van der Eecken, this Saturday 5th August 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.

Tineke Van der Eecken has had a passion for poetry and literature from young age, nurtured through her mother, aunties and maternal grandmother. She studied Latin and ancient Greek at school in Belgium but did not pursue this further until she joined Horst Kornberger's The Writers' Passage' in 2015 and The Delphi Project in 2016.

'Penelope's Dream', to be launched on 5 August, is Tineke's third Zine, after 'Poetic Jewels' and 'Language'.  The launch speech is by renowned and award-winning poet Jennifer Kornberger

Tineke’s poetry has been published in Australia, UK and NZ, and she is a regular performer at poetry events and festivals.  Tineke is the author of two memoirs, 'Cafe d'Afrique', first published in 2009, and 'Traverse' which was shortlisted for the TAG Hungerford Awards.   She will perform her multilingual poetry with the Poetry Ensemble 'Worlds in Words' at the 2017 Perth Poetry Festival.

What is ‘Penelope’s Dream’ all about?  There is only one way to find out.
