Saturday 27th of May, Ross Donlon and Maggie Van Putten!

Our two feature poets are Ross Donlon and Maggie Van Putten, this Saturday 27th May 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.

Ross Donlon has published three books of poetry, The Blue Dressing Gown & other poems, Sjøvegen (The Sea Road) 50 tanka for Ǻlvik, and Lucidity. His awards include the Varuna Dorothy Hewett Flagship Fellowship, two international poetry prizes and the Launceston Cup, premier spoken word event of the Tasmanian Poetry Festival. He has read his work in Australia, Norway, Romania and Poland and has featured at festivals in England and Ireland. He now lives in Castlemaine, Victoria.

Maggie Van Putten records her physical and metaphysical journeys in what she calls “observational blank verse” which usually stops further questions.  Her poetry also includes less common forms such as pantoums, haibun and modern sonnet variations.  She has published work in Creatrix online, several anthologies and performed at various venues around Perth.

Maggie is a committee member of WA Poets Inc and Hospital Poets Australia and a regular contributor to the Weekend Notes website. Currently she is undertaking training to become a Coursera Mentor for the California Institute of the Arts online course Sharpened Visions: A Poetry Workshop.
