Saturday 20th of May, Liana Joy Christensen and Bill Jenkins!

We have two wonderful poets, Liana Joy Christensen and Bill Jenkins, this Saturday 20th May 2017 at Perth Poetry Club.

Liana Joy Christensen is emeritus M.C. of Voicebox, and this is her third appearance at its sister gig, the Moon, the last when she was a featured guest of the Perth Poetry Festival.  She has had a long sojourn in prose, writing the first of four speculative fiction novels, with the collective title of The Cantor Quartet.  She is delighted to be back in poetry land with a recent appearance in Rochford Street Review.  She works intermittently on an interminable poetry collection with the working title of Ghost Town, which she hopes to complete before she is one.

Bill Jenkins: born in a fishing village in northern Scotland in 1945.  Migrated to Australia in 1961.  Labourer, assistant pipe fitter, tool store-man, clerk, paymaster, purchasing officer to 1966.  Mature age matriculation in 1967.  Univ in 1968, leading to B.A. Hons 1, Psychology 1972.  Tutor, Senior Tutor, UWA.  PhD, to 1980.  Lecturer, UWA.  One of his students killed by the Birnies, 1986.  Life changed, resigned lectureship, became human. Psychotherapist, hospice chaplain, lecturer (often concurrently), to 2011.  Looked after wife with dementia from 2009-2017.  Has written poetry since he was 14.  A single life-time that has had many life-changes, translating into many life-times of experience.
