Thursday 11th of May, "Poetry In Conversation: Amy Hilhorst"

'Poetry In Conversation' is a chance for you to listen to some of Perth’s best poets in an interview format with Robert Wood. These sessions are designed as an introduction and exploration of how poets write, read and talk. They will feature readings of poems as well as the opportunity for you to hear about the poet’s influences, process and work. This will give you the chance to listen to the stories behind the poetry for which they are known. Come along, grab a glass of wine and settle in to hear what our best wordsmiths are up to.

The 'Poetry in Conversation' series will continue with AMY HILHORST. Amy is a Perth poet and researcher. Amy’s own poetry has been published in Writ, Verity La, Axon, Cordite and Westerly. Her research explores psychic disturbances in the poetry of Francis Webb, Bruce Beaver and Michael Dransfield, focusing on representations of a lyric subject in ‘breakdown’.  She is co-guest-editing a special online issue of Westerly, due for release in April 2017.

ROBERT WOOD has interned for Overland and Wild Dingo Press, worked for Australian Poetry, edited for Peril and Cordite, been a columnist for Cultural Weekly and is on the faculty of The School of Life. At present he works for the Centre for Stories.
