Saturday 11th March, Piriye Altraide and David Finley!

It’s two great features Piriye Altraide) from Melbourne and David Finley, this Saturday 11th March 2017.

Piriye Altraide is an accomplished writer, spoken-word artist and self-proclaimed dancefloor extraordinaire.  Hailing from Perth and having escaped her past life as a Chartered Accountant, she is now undertaking a Masters in Creative Writing and on her way to calling Melbourne home… whilst transforming into a hipster.  Piriye is a 2014 Perth Poetry Slam finalist and has had her work published in Mirrors of Africa.

David Finley came late to Poetry, bringing with him 60 years of creative experience in many fields.  Years of complex report writing as an engineer lead to a love of the English Language and writing occasional poetry.  Serious writing only commenced 12 months ago, after a serious life threatening episode.  David has a love of poetry in Science contexts, and experimentation with form and Language.  He makes use of Anglo Saxon vestigial words, word Games and Math puzzles in his poetry - most of all in providing tales, often historical or based on imaginary journey into the minds of persona experiencing difficult times.

Please join us at The Moon Café 323 William Street Northbridge this Saturday 2pm-4pm for Piriye Altraide (Melbourne) and David Finley.  Open-mike as always.
